Charles Hawkins Co. Promotes R. Stephen Prather to First Vice President

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Charles Hawkins Co. is pleased to announce that industry veteran R. Stephen
Prather has earned the title of First Vice President.

Prather has been a commercial real estate agent since 2007. His primary business focus is the leasing,
sales and acquisition of commercial properties in the greater Metropolitan Nashville area.

Prior to joining the Charles Hawkins Co., Mr. Prather spent two years earning an MBA degree from
Vanderbilt’s Owen Graduate School of Management. Before returning to school, Mr. Prather worked in
Washington, D.C. for nearly four years as a Deputy Press Secretary for U.S. Senator Jim Bunning and as
a Legislative Assistant for U.S. Congressman John Shadegg.

“The First Vice President title represents the willingness and ability to develop and execute a focused
business plan that consistently provides real estate solutions for the broker’s clients over an extended

Chas. Hawkins Co., INC. Announces its New Name

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Chas. Hawkins Co., Inc. /CORFAC International is excited to announce that it has officially renamed the company Charles Hawkins Co.  

Charles Hawkins, known as Charlie, started the company in 1962, naming it Chas. Hawkins Co, Inc. in order to save money. Each letter on the company sign cost 15 cents, and Mr. Hawkins wanted to keep the name short in order to cut costs. 

Nearly 60 years later, Mr. Hawkin’s legacy remains essential to the ethos and values of the company. During his long tenure as president, Charlie grew the commercial real estate firm, expanding its capabilities to include robust brokerage services as well as property management and development. He was widely respected for being fair and prudent in his dealings, demonstrating a commitment to the values of integrity, stability and tenacity that remain integral to the firm today. The company’s new name—Charles Hawkins Co.—reflects a move to modernize without losing those critical roots.

Accompanying its new name, Charles Hawkins Co. is also unveiling a new brand. The updated look will feature on a new website as well as on signage for brokerage and development properties throughout the region.

The Chas. Hawkins Co. adds two brokers to the new Developing Broker Program

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Chas. Hawkins Co. announced the addition of Reid Mangelsdorf and Kevin Irwin as part of the company’s new Developing Broker Program.

“Reid and Kevin have big futures ahead of them and will significantly enhance our client services,” said Stephen Prather, Senior Vice President and Co-Director of the Developing Broker Program.

Mangelsdorf has more than a year of experience working in the property management division after his graduation from Mississippi State in May of 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and real estate finance. As a Brentwood native, Mangelsdorf is a member of the CCIM Nashville Chapter, has been involved with Purple Heart Homes and was named a NAIOP Developing Leader. Through his experiences, he quickly demonstrated his capabilities and has been given the opportunity to work as a developing broker.  

Irwin is a recent graduate with a bachelor’s degree in managerial finance and real estate from the University of Mississippi. Originally from Orlando, he will begin his professional career as a developing broker. Irwin has been involved with NAIOP, National Wild Turkey Federation Nashville Chapter and Delta Waterfowl.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Chas. Hawkins Co., Inc. /CORFAC International is pleased to announce that industry veteran Hiram Lewis, SIOR has earned the title of First Vice President.

Lewis has been a commercial real estate agent since 2006.  His primary business focus is the brokerage of industrial and investment properties.

Lewis earned a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science in Education from Vanderbilt University. While at Vanderbilt, Mr. Lewis was a member of the Commodore football team and coached as a graduate assistant while earning his master’s degree. Prior to joining Chas. Hawkins Co., Inc., Lewis worked with Nashville based Backfield-In-Motion and taught senior history and economics at Franklin Road Academy.

Lewis previously served on the Vanderbilt Alumni Association Board of Directors and is currently Vice President of the Middle and East Tennessee Chapter of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors.
